Hospital based services

Specialist alcohol workers are based at Salford Royal Hospital to provide alcohol advice and treatment to patients attending hospital.

If you attend Accident and Emergency or are admitted to hospital, you may be asked about your alcohol use. If you are drinking at a level which may be putting your health at risk you will be offered a referral to the hospital alcohol service.

This service provides:

  • Harm minimisation advice and support
  • Alcohol detoxification
  • Links into alcohol services in the community
  • Training and advice for hospital staff

The hospital alcohol service can be contacted on 0161 206 0528

In-patient services
