Drama and dance workshops

Part of Salford's Music & Performing Arts Service

Drama workshops are available to the schools and cater for all ages from Foundation to Key Stage 4. A list of current workshops on offer has been circulated to schools and copies are available from Sarat Broughton. Contact Sarat on 0161 778 0257.

Workshops can be timetabled as regular weekly input into the curriculum or on consecutive days following a specific theme or project or as single full or half days. Some are solely drama sessions, others combine a degree of movement or more dance orientated depending on the specific workshops. In addition schools can request a particular theme or storyline not listed, to suit curriculum work within the school. Bookings are taken throughout the year for these workshops and new sessions are devised for the start of each academic year. Often schools book a regular slot in advance.

Booking workshops

Initially a member of staff from the school needs to contact Sarat Broughton from MAPAS to reserve convenient dates, as the workshops are quickly booked up for all three terms. Any school unsure of which workshop to select, can be given advice appropriate to the group(s) involved. Once details have been arranged, an email from MAPAS will be sent to the school confirming the workshop and the date.
