Disabled living

Disabled Living

Salford City Council and Disabled Living, a disability equipment charity, have teamed up to bring you a huge choice of equipment and advice which will help make your life easier and increase your independence.

Bringing together a range of equipment under one roof, from small aids such raised toilet seats and grab-rails, to larger items such as mobilised scooters, special mattresses and armchairs, you can get everything you need in one place.

As well as a wide range of equipment that cater for different needs, our purpose built centre includes demonstration areas for each room in a home, so that you can try out different equipment and adaptations and see how they would work in your home.

You can also have an assessment where you will get expert advice about what your options are and which types of equipment would suit you, or simply get information and advice.

Who can use the centre?

Anyone can get help from the centre:

  • people who have short-term mobility problems due to injuries such as broken legs
  • people who are recuperating from illness or hospital stays
  • people with long-term disabilities
  • people with an older or disabled relative staying with them who want some advice or equipment to make their home more suitable

Visit the Disabled Living website for a full range of equipment and services.
