Dog Warden Service

Dog

Dog wardens deal with enquiries from members of the public about a range of issues including dog foulinglost dogs, and stray and dangerous dogs.

They patrol across the city and investigate complaints, taking action against offenders where possible.

Dog wardens can give you advice on responsible dog ownership, including routine health care such as worming, vaccinating your dog, neutering and microchipping.

If they cannot help you they will put you in touch with someone who can. The dog wardens make every effort to reunite dogs with their owners.

By law, all dogs must wear a collar with an identity disc attached, displaying the name, address and telephone number of the owner.

As collars are sometimes lost, we always recommend that dogs are microchipped and registered with the Kennel Club's Petlog scheme.
