Eccles summer activities

Fun dog show

A fun dog show to raise money for Homeless Hounds and help save dogs lives will be held at Patricroft Recreational Ground on Sunday 4 September 2011. A programme of events at the dog show can be downloaded below.

Eccles Festival

The Eccles Festival will be held on Eccles Recreation Ground, which is the park just outside Eccles Town Centre situated on Oxford Street and Pleasant Road, on Saturday 17 September 2011 and Sunday 18 September 2011.

Capture the Canal! A celebration of 250 years of the Bridgewater Canal

You are invited to enter an art competition at Eccles Community Art Gallery, Boothway, Eccles. You can use paints, pencils, charcoal, pastel, textiles, photography or in fact pretty much anything that can be hung on a wall to depict the Bridgewater Canal. There is also a small area for 3D work.

The competition categories are 'heritage', 'leisure uses of the canal', 'scenic views' and 'junior'. The closing date for entries is Saturday 10 September 2011. All work will be exhibited from Saturday 17 September 2011 to Saturday 8 October 2011.

There is no charge to enter the competition which has adult prizes of £100.00 and junior prizes of £50.00. A leaflet with details of the competition can be downloaded below.
