The Exchange, Greengate

This planning guidance relates to the intention to establish The Exchange, Greengate as a dynamic new part of the city centre.
The area’s thirteen hectares of vacant and underused land and buildings will be transformed into a distinctive and diverse mixed use urban quarter, a catalyst to a new phase of cross-city regeneration in Salford and Manchester and helping consolidate the regional centre’s European status.
Public consultation
A consultation draft of the Planning Guidance for The Exchange was produced and was subject to public consultation that ran between July and September 2006. The city council have considered the representations received during the consultation period and have incorporated these into a revised version that was adopted by the city council on 17 January 2007.
