Fiddlers Lane Sure Start Children's Centre is attached to Fiddlers Lane Primary School.
What we offer
We offer children and families a huge range of services, activities and support including:
- Well baby clinic
- Baby massage
- BookStart story time (incorporated into Fridays stay and play session)
- Breakfast club
- Breastfeeding support
- Childminders support group
- Adult education (computer course)
- Employment and training advice
- Midwife clinics
- Stay and play sessions
- Weaning groups
- Healthy eating cooking courses
- Work and skills drop-ins
As well as our all new sessions:
- Wrigglers and Gigglers
- Big cook, little cook
- Sure swim
- Parent survival courses
- Mini Mend
There are many other events and sessions held here, and we provide many other forms of support and advice.
Be sure to have a look at our regular timetable, as well as our 'Summer Special Events' timetable in the downloads sections below. We stay open during school holidays, although some of the events that are held outside of the centre may vary at these times. Please contact the centre if you are unsure.
The centre
The centre has a community room which is used for most sessions, and is suitable for play sessions and meetings, and has cooking facilities. There is a training room which can cater for up to 15 people for meetings and training sessions, and a health room for private consultations, and our new and exciting sensory room which is almost complete.
We also have an brand new outdoor adventure playground, and two other outdoor play areas equiped with play equipment.
We have close ties with other local resources, and run sessions in the pool, in Irlam Community Centre, and with the library.
The team
The centre has an energetic and friendly team of children's workers, a food worker and an educational lead. We regularly have members of the midwifery team and Primary Care Trust workers in the centre.
