Special Extinguishment Order 2006

NOTICE is hereby given that the council of the city of Salford ("the council") made the abovementioned order ("the order") on 8 September 2006, under Section 118B of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the order will be to extinguish the right of way over the land situated at Florence Street, Athol Street and Winifred Street, Salford, as specified in the Schedule below and shown on the plan annexed to the order.

The order is required for the purposes of preventing or reducing crime which would otherwise disrupt the life of the community.

A copy of the order and the plan annexed to it may be inspected free of charge at the Legal Section, Salford Civic Centre, Swinton M27 5DA between the hours of 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Copies of the order may be obtained at a reasonable charge. Details can be viewed online.

Any representation or objection to the order may be sent in writing to the Assistant Director (Legal), (quoting reference H/ME/SM/HS/SEO/8346) at the abovementioned address before 12 October 2006 and should state the grounds on which it is made.

If no such representations are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the council may confirm the order itself instead of submitting it to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation. If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State for confirmation, any representation or objection that has been duly made and not withdrawn will be transmitted with the order.
