Footprints for the future
Climate change is here for the long term! Salford’s Footprint for the Future conference provided an opportunity for a wide range of our partners to discuss issues concerning climate change, how we should respond and reduce our carbon footprint in the future. We needed you to help us shape the city’s response to climate change, telling us what’s already happening in your organisations and what more can be done.
The day included speakers from the Energy Saving Trust, Climate Change Agency, MediaCityUK, ENWORKS, GM Waste Disposal Authority and the Environment Agency.
Over the coming years the city of Salford will continue the process of transformation through regeneration. Significant investment will bring development, jobs and economic opportunity. But we will have to do this at a time when we are being set very challenging carbon reduction targets and creating communities resilient to the impacts of changing weather patterns. Salford’s new climate change Strategy - ‘Creating a city prepared for the future, provides a framework for future climate change partnership working.
All presentations from the day are now available to download.
