Gary Fraser

The second - and equally important - member of the Peel Green Crematorium team is Gary Fraser. Like Barry, he was previously a grave digger, and now provides 'behind the scenes' expertise to make sure that services are as pleasant as possible.

During 'Life of Grime' he was filmed at work cleaning and servicing equipment as well as talking about his work while enjoying a game of golf in his spare time.

Gary has been with Environment Services for 16 years - and most of that time has been providing the technical expertise. "We are both trained to do either job, but I prefer to be out of sight. We are a real team - we know the job and we get on with. But it can be very sad, especially when a baby or child is involved."

Whatever the circumstances Gary and Barry care for mourners and help them through a very emotional time.
