Salford Museum

The Friends were founded in 1957 to enable people to obtain greater enjoyment from the city's museums and heritage collections. The aims of the association have widened over the years, and as well as raising funds so that items can be added to the existing collections, the Friends try to encourage Salford people to have a wider interest in the work of the museum service.

As a member of the Friends, you recieve numerous benefits which include:

  • Copies of the Friends newsletter
  • The chance to be involved in a range of cultural events and exhibitions at the museums
  • The chance to volunter with behind the scenes activities such as documentation and research
