Greater Manchester Geological Unit Join Urban Vision
GMGU was established 20 years ago and is located in the University of Manchester. There are 17 members of staff undertaking teaching, training and research activities along side the multi-disciplinary geotechnical, environmental and minerals & waste planning consultancy services to local authorities in Greater Manchester.
The Unit will continue with their work within the academic environment of the University, undertaking projects including environmental monitoring, site investigation historic land use searches and minerals & waste planning whilst providing its clients to Urban Vision's additional, complementary services.
GMGU's director, Simon Talbot, explains "This is a great move for our clients and stakeholders. Not only will our new position within Urban Vision allow us to build on our strengths as a high quality service provider, but it also gives us the security of a highly respected organisation and the opportunity to provide our clients wit additional property services under the same 'roof'. Over the coming months we hope to share our knowledge and research experience with the rest of Urban Vision and to expand our services beyond Greater Manchester."
Bill Taylor, managing director of Urban Vision adds: "Urban Vision is a truly unique organisation in the North West, providing high level expertise across a wide range of property and development disciplines. Our collaborative approach and aim to provide our clients with a 'one stop shop' for property, planning and highways support services has been further reinforced by the addition of the GMGU to our team and we are delighted that such an important organisation is joining us."
