Greenspace Strategy Monitoring
Monitoring is completed on an annual basis to review any progress made towards meeting the local standards set in the Greenspace Strategy. Between 1 April 2006 and 31 March 2009 the level of greenspace provision generally improved particularly for district and neighbourhood parks. Despite initial increases for the play space standards, the monitoring for 2009 demonstrated reductions to or below the standard in 2006, however these reductions mainly reflect the increase in the number of residential properties in the city rather than a decrease in provision.
A detailed review was completed in 2007. A summary of progress up to 2007 and sites identified for improvement by 2016 can be found in the downloadable documents section at the bottom of this page.
