Group visits to Ordsall Hall

We are happy to welcome groups at Ordsall Hall and guided tours can be arranged. The tours will be led by members of the team and will tell the story of how the building has developed over the last 650 years and bring to life some of the characters connected to this famous Salford landmark.

Times:
The hall is available for group tours from 10.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. However, during term time we have a school class in most days so we try to arrange for groups to visit us in the afternoon so that they are not clashing with the school sessions.

Sunday and evening tours can be arranged on request. Please contact us for details of availability.

Cost:
Guided tours during opening hours (Monday to Friday, 10.00am to 4.00pm and Sunday 1.00pm to 4.00pm), cost £2.00 per person.

Evening tours (from Monday to Friday between 4.00pm to 8.00pm), cost £5.00 per person (price includes a cup of tea or coffee). There must be a minimum of 20 people on an evening visit. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer evening tours on a Sunday.

Group size:
We can accommodate groups of up to 40 people. Groups larger than 20 will be split into two as some of the rooms in the hall have a strict limit on numbers.

Self guided groups

Self guided group visits are welcome at Ordsall Hall but we politely ask that you contact us in advance of your visit so that we can check that your visit does not clash with a pre-booked group, school visit or activity. There is no charge for a self-guided group visit.

Length of visit:
Please allow one to one and a half hours for your visit.

Wheelchair access:
One room in the hall is not accessible to wheelchair users. We would advise that you let us know if any members of the group have mobility issues. This will help us to make your group's visit as easy as possible.

Catering and refreshments

We have a small refreshment area that seats 12 people. It serves a selection of hot and cold drinks, cakes, biscuits and sandwiches. To avoid queuing in the cafe we can arrange tea, coffee and biscuits for your group to be set up in a private room. Tea and coffee costs £2.00 per person and tea, coffee and biscuits costs £2.50.

We can also arrange for buffet lunches to be provided. Prices start from £7.00 per person. Please ask for more information when you book.

The Lowry at Salford Quays has put together a number of special set lunch menus that they can exclusively offer to groups visiting the hall. If you would like more information about buffet options or lunches at The Lowry, please contact the hall.

Cancellation of visit or catering

Please note that late cancellations may incur a charge.

Parking

The car park is 100 metres from the entrance to the hall. We have five parking bays for blue badge holders. The charge in the car park is £2.00 per car for up to three hours and £5.00 for over three hours. Please note that the car park charges apply to all vehicles during the hall's opening hours. For more information on how to get to the hall, please see our plan your visit page.

Coach parking

Unfortunately, we do not have coach parking facilities at the hall and coaches are unable to turn around in our car park. Coaches can drop people off in the lay-by on Ordsall Lane. There is a walk of 200 metres to the entrance of the hall from the drop off point.
