I have just returned from a week's holiday at the Salfordian Hotel, Southport. Just wanted to say how very much I enjoyed my stay and how helpful the staff were. The food was excellent and of a consistently high standard; quality and quantity first class, always served promptly and piping hot. Many thanks to Paul and his staff for a wonderfully relaxing break.

Dear Madam,
We would like to thank you, and the Salford Community Committee, for allowing us to have a wonderful holiday at the Salfordian Hotel Southport.
My husband and I have never enjoyed a holiday so much as we did at the Salfordian.
Paul and all the staff made us feel so welcome, they were very friendly and helpful, they really exceeded their hospitality. We couldn't have asked for anything more, everything was just perfect, they made us feel so welcome. A drink on arrival, suitcases taken to our room, nothing was too much trouble.
We new straight away we were going to have a good time, what a wonderful place to visit.
Thank you so much

Friday Club on holiday
On Friday 10 October, 14 cheerful Friday Club members (including helpers) set off from sunny Irlam to the Salfordian Hotel in Southport (for our third visit). We arrived at the Salfordian just after lunch and whilst we tucked in to tea, coffee and scones Paul and his staff arranged for our luggage to be taken to our rooms. After unpacking, half a dozen of us set off for a walk around Hesketh Park which is conveniently situated just across the road from the hotel. The rest of the group enjoyed a nap or settled into the lounge for a cosy chat.
After an hour or so, the walkers returned to the hotel and Marie instigated a chocolate quiz followed by a money quiz. Did you know that two pieces of plain chocolate can ward of heart disease? No neither did I! What a good excuse to have chocolate every day!
After a three course evening meal we all had a quick freshen up and were ready for the evening entertainment. Bingo was first, followed by Lawrie, a singer who also did a spot of line dancing. He was joined by an energetic Evelyn, Dorothy, Marion and Alma for a twirl around the dance floor. I think they showed him a few dance moves he didn't know. Mind you, I think he tried a few moves of his own when he gave nearly everyone a kiss good night at the end of the evening!
The weather forecast for Saturday wasn't good, but it was fine when we set off on the hotel's minibus for a morning in Southport. After a walk around Southport a group of us found it warm enough to sit outside The Bold Hotel for tea and toasted teacakes (not bad for October).
Saturday afternoon we spent back at the hotel enjoying a game of Call my Bluff. We didn't expect Joan to be able to tell such "lies". Once Joan, Marie and I got into the swing of "bluffing", there was no stopping us I'm not sure that we can remember all the new words, but I expect most of us won't forget what "shikkered" means!
There was bingo on Saturday evening. Our group won the majority of the prizes (again). Saturday night was also "George Formby Night" when we were entertained by a local ukulele group giving their own renditions of George Formby songs. Alma really enjoyed being one of their dancers (you had to be there).
After a three course breakfast on Sunday morning, we decided to visit the Botanical Gardens again. We had a lovely walk around the gardens, the water and the birds and we had time to sit and enjoy lunch in the café, before returning to the hotel taxi. The weather was glorious and we all sat around happily chatting until 2 o'clock when our minibus arrived to take us back home. We all had a great time, enjoying each others company, the entertainment and Southport, but we all missed Marion, Elsie and Doris who weren't able to join us this time. Hope they will be able to come next time.
The Salfordian is a lovely friendly hotel and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The rates are very reasonable and if anyone is interested in going there for a break, just ask Joan, Marie or me for more details.
I really enjoyed hotel holiday
Regarding the Salfordian Hotel,Southport, I have just had a holiday in Southport and it was fabulous; it's as good as any top hotel.
The staff, rooms and food were superb and they even had trips out and a lovely park facing it where you could go for a walk after dinner. Anybody can go. Yes there are some older people there but they need a holiday like everybody else.
It's a pity that more young and old people don't give the hotel a try. I will definitely go again.

Please pass our sincere thanks to all the staff at the Salfordian hotel from Salford Disabled Motorists members. We stayed at the hotel in November 2010 for the Turkey and Tinsel celebrations.
The whole weekend was not just good but excellent throughout. The food, staff, accommodation the whole atmosphere was just brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. This was down to the staff being so friendly and most helpful. We would not hesitate to recommend the Salfordian Hotel to anyone. We wish you all the very best for the future, may we take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

We have just come back from the Salfordian Hotel, I want to thank you for your help in booking our holiday at such short notice.
We had a great time, beautiful gardens, fantastic staff and out of this world food.
It was a very safe environment for my brother who I care for, his friend and my other brother who also came along it was a very relaxing break for all of us.
We will write to the hotel and thank them all.
The Salfordian is not "as good as a top Hotel", it is a top hotel!
