Hair care
As with the rest of your body, hair changes naturally with age.
What you can do for yourself
Here are some tips for keeping your hair in as good shape as possible:
- Eat a well-balanced diet, rich in foods containing antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, calcium and vitamins which helps keep your hair and body strong and in good condition.
- Drink enough to stay hydrated.
- Don't over use curling irons, hot rollers, flat irons etc. When using them, do so on low heat settings.
- Allow your hair to dry naturally. as hair dryers can damage your hair.
- Cut back on the chemical treatments you get on your hair, such as perm, colour.
- Hair products containing alcohol can cause the hair to become dry.
- Since ageing hair is more likely to split, getting regular trims keeps it looking its best.
- Use hair products with sunscreen.
- Wear a hat in bright daylight.
