Young carers

A young carer is a child or young person under 18 who provides regular and ongoing care and emotional support to a family member who is physically or mentally ill, disabled or misuses substances.

We want children and young people to be protected from inappropriate caring and have the support they need to learn, develop and thrive, to achieve against the Every Child Matters five outcomes.

We work with other organisations such asĀ Salford Carers Centre to make sure young carers are identified and supported.
