Duane Hignett

Graffiti operative, Duane Hignett, is an expert with the jetting machine, which cleans buildings, footpaths and other areas - but he's not so good with keys.

Viewers will recognise him as the one on 'Life of Grime' who loses the vehicle keys - and much later finds them at the bottom of a toolbox.

Despite this - and the ribbing he took from his mates afterwards, Daune did enjoy the filming and hopes it will help local people understand the job.

Getting wet through is all in a day's work for United fan Duane - but he gets satisfaction from making the city cleaner. He's worked for Salford City Council for nine years - and for the last 18 months on the graffiti team.

"I enjoy travelling round and meeting different people. It's also good to be able to make things look better!"
