Housing Inspection standards

  • When we provide you with formal written advice it is in plain English and includes a language panel advising you that a translation service is available.
  • We will respond to a housing condition complaint within 48 hours, either in writing or by telephone.
  • We take all reasonable steps to give at least 24 hours notice of an inspection to all interested parties, to allow them the opportunity to attend.
  • Where immediate action is required, interested parties will be contacted in writing following the inspection.
  • We carry formal identification when we visit your home to undertake an inspection.
  • Complainants and other parties with a relevant interest will be informed in writing of the outcome of any Housing Health and Safety Rating System inspection within ten working days of the assessment date.
  • Customers are treated courteously and in a professional manner.
