New water-based workouts available at your local pool
Our aqua conditioning sessions are water-based workouts that are recognised by elite sportsmen and women as a way of complementing their training, regeneration and rehabilitation.
No easy alternative to swimming, our new classes offer a different form of exercise in the water.
Hydro fit
Not sure which workout is for you? Why not sign up for a six-week programme of different aquatic disciplines that feature:
- Aqua walk - taking it from small steps increasing intensity and speed to give a water workout for all.
- Aqua jog - as it sounds - jogging in the water! With the aid of a belt for buoyancy and to help maintain an upright position in the water.
- Aqua step - don't worry as the step block has little suckers on the bottom to fix the step securely to the bottom of the pool. We provide webbed mitts for the class for those that want to increase the resistance as they work through the water.
Together with aqua circuits and aqua fit, there is something for everyone and variety will keep your fitness regime fresh.
Swimming offers

Why workout in the pool?
John Stout, Head Swimming Coach at Salford Community Leisure says, "The water immediately eliminates any of the pressure on your joints associated with exercising on dry land. Also you can burn extra calories, boost your heart rate and increase the intensity of your workout. These classes are also used by athletes during periods of rehabilitation and can form part of many physiotherapy treatments for patients recovering from back problems."
