Completed Community Impact Assessments

Community Impact Assessments (CIA) are a way of finding out how what the council does will affect different parts of the community. This includes thinking about disability, age, race, gender (including gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity and marriage and civil partnership), religion and/or belief, sexual identity, tackling socio-economic inequality and community cohesion. We must do Community Impact Assessments by law. However, this is about more than meeting a legal obligation. By placing impact assessments at the heart of everything we do, the benefits are far-reaching and will ultimately lead to the public receiving better, more improved services.

Benefits can include:

  • Providing better services to Salford residents, making sure we reflect the needs of all communities
  • Making better decisions, based on evidence and data
  • Increasing our transparency in the things we do and improving confidence
  • Stopping institutional discrimination
  • The council becoming a better employer and helping to meet our priorities in the Salford Agreement
  • Identifying how we can offer more support to improve community cohesion, inclusion and equality

It is a legal duty to publish Community Impact Assessments and they will be published here when they are completed. To view the completed Community Impact Assessments, please click on the documents below.
