Impacts of climate change

Climate change will affect people living in all parts of the world, including Salford

Some of the things we could possibly see include...

increasing number of intense heat waves

potential water shortages

greater chance of storm damage to homes and buildings from severe weather events

increasing risk of flash flooding caused by faster and faster runoff from hard surfaces

increased demand for air conditioning leading to possible power surges and blackouts

strain on the water and power infrastructure to deal with increased water runoff and power demands

Across the world

The impacts of climate change are more devastating in other parts of the world. Vulnerable countries could see rising sea levels and major flooding leading to homes being destroyed. More intense heat-waves and droughts could lead to crops failing and animals dying, which will impact on global food prices.

We can prevent this from happening! Everybody can do their bit to help - all Salford residents can play a part.
