Selective Licensing Application

Landlords renting a property out in certain areas of Salford, must obtain a licence from Salford City Council.

You are able to download an application pack from this page or request a paper copy from the Landlord Licensing Team, Second Floor, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5BY or email landlord.licensing@salford.gov.uk.

The selective licence application comes in six parts and each part must be completed and returned with the associated documents before your application will be processed. If you require any assistance completing the form, you can make an appointment with the team by calling 0161 793 3344.

Evidence requirement

When appying for a Landlord Licence you must enclose a Basic Criminal Disclosure Certificate obtained in the last three months prior to date of application. An application for a Basic Criminal Disclosure is enclosed within the licence application pack and can also be obtained directly from Disclosure Scotland.

Please note your licence application cannot be processed without this original document. All information provided will be treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. This includes data exchange and storage of personal, sensitive information. We reserve the right to approach other authorities such as the Police, Fire and  Rescue Service, Office of Fair Trading for information relating to this application.
