Vocational training for 16-19 year olds
Your school days might be behind you, but you can always learn something new. Learning new skills can be challenging, fun, increase your confidence and lead to a great new career.
Salford Skills Centre offers vocational training for 16-19 year olds or as we would like to call it - learning for the real world. Academic subjects don't suit everyone, our vocational training focuses on practical experience.
We equip you with the skills you need for a new career in a specific trade or industry, we currently offer four apprenticeship programmes and an E2E (Entry to Employment) programme.

What can learners expect?
Help, support and encouragement will be on offer to assist learners in gaining the skills necessary to be part of tomorrow's workforce.
You will work towards completing an apprenticeship programme and achieving a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ). It is usual to spend four days a week on placement and one day with Salford Skills Centre.
All learners will attend a thorough induction, which includes health & safety training, initial work placement visits and, where appropriate, food hygiene training - prior to starting your work placement.
