YouthBank history and background

Since its launch in 2003, several young people from across the city of Salford have been involved in the YouthBank grants panel , with ages ranging from 13 to 21 years old
The group of grantmakers show real commitment, meeting regularly to make decisions on funding bids, decide how YouthBank should be run, and receive relevant training and accreditation for their work. To date, the panel have distributed over £800,000 to other young people throughout Salford.
YouthBank are always seeking new, committed grantmakers, and invite bids from all young people seeking funding for their group or project (for the age range 13 to 19).
Thanks to the funding available from the Youth Opportunity and Youth Capital Funds, YouthBank has expanded its service, to enable more young people to participate. There are now four Mini YouthBanks in the four localites of Salford (as well as a citywide steering group) to allow more grantmakers to participate in YouthBank decision making.
