Where can you find out more information on the application process?
In order to apply for a nursery/reception school place your child must be a Salford resident, even if you want to apply for a nursery/school outside of the Salford Local Authority (LA).
We aim to help parents get a place at the nursery/school they consider most appropriate for their child. However, as many schools receive more applications than they have places, we need a process to decide which children get a place and which have to go to other schools. As a result we ask for you to select a number of schools and rank them in preference order.
How are Nursery/Reception school places allocated?
Places in nursery and reception classes maintained by Salford LA are allocated using published admissions criteria (see Nursery-Reception admissions criteria). Voluntary Aided primary schools may have different admissions criteria to, view each individual school's criteria see the primary admission booklet.
The deadline for making your application is 9 January 2009.
Please remember that your child is not guaranteed a place at the school of your preference at this stage but consideration will be given to your request. An email followed by a letter will be sent to you on 10 April 2009 informing you of the place which has been allocated to your child.
