Primary School Places Review
Following extensive consultation with parents, governors and teachers, Salford City Council has moved to the next stage of the Primary Schools Review aimed at removing more than 1,700 surplus primary school places. Options were put forward for consultation in the autumn of last year. The authority has listened carefully to the comments and suggestions received.
After taking account of the comments, and also changes which were introduced during the consultation process by the DfES on calculating school capacity, some of the initial proposals to close and amalgamate schools have been changed.
The following report and appendices detail the revised proposals for actions.
