Consumer Education Information for Teachers in Secondary Schools
Secondary School
Mindful of the need to educate and inform all the young consumers of the future the Trading Standards Institute have included a full education package on their own website called 'The Smart Shoppers Guide' which is aimed at secondary schools.
This package includes guidance on using the guide; topics covered; teachers notes; lesson plans; teachers props; role play; student notes and worksheets and information for further research.
Whether you are a teacher or a student the package aims to give a basic grounding in consumer rights to enable you to make the right choices and decisions.
A website that aims to help teachers to develop financial capability in young people is provided by the Personal Finance Education Group. This site includes teaching resources and case studies.
More financial resources for teachers can be found on the Financial Services Authority website.
