Young carers
Is one of your students helping to look after someone at home?
Looking after a parent or sibling with a physical disability, learning disability, mental health problem, chronic illness or substance misuse problem can hinder a young person’s access to education.
They might be late, absent, tired, unable to concentrate, worried, bullied or unable to complete homework.
Salford Young Carers can support these young people. We can also give PHSE lessons and assemblies to any year group, provide resources for schools on Young Carers, and run awareness raising sessions for staff.
