Information for pupils

Our vision will provide educational facilities that are not only bang up to date but look to the future. We want to create a new school with 21st century learning facilities.

Building works on schools will not start for some time, so if you are currently a secondary school pupil you may have moved onto the next stage of your education or into the world of work by this time.

Our aim is to create schools that you and other pupils can be proud of – schools that are exciting to go to.

The new school will give pupils like you more choice of subjects and cutting edge ICT to help each of you follow your interests and reach your full potential. In September and October 2006 we visited schools to find out more about what pupils thought of our proposals and reported these views back to the people developing the programme.

In the next 12 months, schools and pupils will be involved in designing the future buildings. Further information will be provided on these webpages.

A statutory school consultation on the proposed closure of St George's, refurbishment of St Ambrose Barlow and re-build of All Hallows RC high schools has now closed (ended 30 November 2007). As part of the consultation, student councils were offered a meeting to record their views. Individual pupils were also able to take part in the consultation.

A statutory consultation on revised proposals is running 10 November - 17 December 2008.
