Information for the community
Our proposals would create schools that are about much more than activities in the classroom – schools that are at the heart of their community.
We propose to extend the use of school sites. This would make more efficient use of schools and provide better access to local services.
We have identified services that could share school facilities and grounds in the future.
In late 2006, we submitted outline planning applications for building work at Irlam and Cadishead Community High School. This was based on the refurbishment of the school. The council has now taken an in principle decision to build a new school on the existing site.
We will update local communities on plans as they develop. There will also be the opportunity to submit comments during the planning application process.
