St George's RC High School
Our proposals would make significant investment and reorganisation of Salford's Roman Catholic voluntary aided high schools. We wish to work with the Diocesan Board to ensure that schools are upgraded to maintain current high standards and deliver transformational learning.
Our proposals would substantially refurbish St Patrick's RC and St Ambrose Barlow RC High Schools and replace All Hallows RC High School with a brand new re-located school building. St George's High School would be closed by September 2012.
There would be additional capacity at the Roman Catholic secondary schools, with a place for all Roman Catholic children who want one. Detailed arrangements would be put in place for the transition of pupils to new schools.
In addition, there will be extra places at Walkden High School and Harrop Fold High School.
The statutory school consultation on the proposal to close St Georges RC High School closed on 30 November 2007.
