St George's RC High School

Our proposals would make significant investment and reorganisation of Salford's Roman Catholic voluntary aided high schools. We wish to work with the Diocesan Board to ensure that schools are upgraded to maintain current high standards and deliver transformational learning.

Our revised proposals would rebuild St Patrick's RC High School, provide a new building for St Ambrose Barlow RC High School at a site in Wardley and replace All Hallows RC High School with a brand new re-located school building at the old Hope High School site. St George's RC High School would be closed by September 2012.

There would be additional capacity at the Roman Catholic secondary schools, with a place for all Roman Catholic children who want one. Detailed arrangements would be put in place for the transition of pupils to new schools. The new proposed site for St Ambrose Barlow RC High School at Wardley will provide easier transport arrangements for pupils travelling from the Little Hulton area and the new school will provide sixth form facilities

In addition, there will be extra places at Walkden High School and Harrop Fold High School.

A new statutory school consultation ran from 10 November to 17 December 2008 on these proposals.
