Salford's swim scheme

Many people choose swimming as their main form of exercise. Thousands of men, women and children visit our pools every week.
Swimming is a full body exercise that is not weight-bearing. The benefits of regular swimming include improved health and fitness, body tone and confidence - which can also lead to other activities such as water polo, water skiing, scuba diving, surfing etc. Many people find improvements in their social life too.
Salford Community Leisure operate and manage six swimming venues throughout the city. Each one offers a different range of activities and programmes. At all of our pools there are changing rooms with showers, lockers for your clothes and valuables and trained lifeguards for your safety.
Whether you or your children want to learn to swim or if you prefer to join activities with people in a similar age group, we can help.
All our pools are available for public swimming over a range of times to suit your needs.
All pools offer the opportunity to hold private parties when celebrating birthdays or special occasions.
Prices for swimming are standard across all pools, however our membership schemes enable you to make huge savings.
Access to venues does vary so if you have any specific requirements please check before your visit.
Schools form a large part of our daytime programme and our commitment to the development of the school swimming scheme is continuously driven by our qualified teachers and the swimming scheme coordinator. School swimming lessons, together with the Salford Swim Scheme, Swimming Squad, local swimming clubs and other aquatic activities will be progressed in a co-ordinated manner through SCL's Swimming Strategy which is currently being developed under the management of Shelley Whitehead, the Swimming Manager.
