Inclusive leisure
All of Salford Community Leisure's sport sessions are inclusive and we encourage people of all abilities to take part in sport and physical activity. In addition to this, there are numerous inclusive sports clubs as well as dedicated disability sports sessions run by Salford Community Leisure and partner organisations including:
- Angling
- Athletics - Salford MET Athletic Club
- Boccia
- Cycling - Cycling projects Wheels for All
- Football - Manchester Utd Ability Counts Club - Mondays 6pm-7pm @ Salford Sports Village, Littleton Road, Salford
- Health Walks - organised group walks in country parks and green spaces within the city that are free of charge and accessible to all to walk at their own pace
- Kurling
- Martial Arts - Swinton Martial Arts Academy
- Multi Sports - Oakwood Sports Club
- Swimming - Salford Disabled Swimming Club
- Salford Families Project - Multi Sports session, Fridays @ Fit City Eccles
There is also a number of School based initiatives such as, Chatsworth High Sports Club based at Chatsworth High School and Oakwood Sports Club based at Oakwood High School. Oakwood Sports Club run after school and evening clubs, sports teams and a Saturday Multisports club. They have also been voted Salford Sports Council's club of the year 2007.
FC Clarendon is an IFI (Inclusive Fitness Initiative) Cenre offering fully inclusive leisure and fitness facilities for the whole community. The IFI facilities include:
- ·Automatic doors at entrance
- Multi-level reception area with an integrated loop system
- Accessible toilets and changing facilities (wet and dry)
- Pool hoist
- Fitness suite with modified pieces of cardio vascular and strengh equipment
- Friendly staff trained in Disability awareness
- ·Boccia
- Kurling
- Weekend multi-sports club for young people
