Volunteering in Salford
There are many opportunities available for volunteers within Salford these include:
- Health Walk Leader Role (training required)
- Healthy Hips and Heart mentor Role (training required)
- Healthy @ Heart befriender Role (training required)
- Tai Chi (training required)
- Events (numerous over the year)
- Sports Development Roles (coaching environments)
- Leisure centre (various roles)

- Introduce an accreditation scheme (Volunteer goods gained against hours undertaken as a volunteer)
How to register as a volunteer with Salford Community Leisure
1. Completion of a two sided registration form (see link below)
2. Attend a 'get to know you' informal interview which will include a -
- CRB check (references sent for in the interim period of the CRB being processed)
- Photo taken (a photo ID lanyard is issued on commencing the volunteer role)
- A chance to look through the Job descriptions of the volunteer roles available.
3. Phone call to confirm the location and role allocated -
- On introduction to the volunteer point of contact a volunteer agreement will be discussed and signed.
- This agreement will identify a probation period that the volunteer will be undertaking.
- Uniform will be issued on this day along with the photo ID lanyard and hour sheet to record the number of hours undertaken on each occasion.
4. After the volunteer probation period is due to expire, a volunteer progress review will be undertaken by the volunteer point of contact.
