Adult Sailing Courses
The sheltered waters of Salford Quays provide the ideal sailing waters for learning the basics of Dinghy Sailing. Courses that we can offer are RYA Levels 1 and 2, new for 2008 are the RYA Seamanship Skills and RYA Start Racing courses. Our dedicated team of instructors will guide you through the various stages of your course. Sailing courses take place either on Saturdays or Tuesday evenings.
Sailing - Introduction to Sailing: Price £20.00
Have you ever wondered how it feels to be out on the open water? The introduction to sailing is a great way to discover whether sailing is the sports for you.

Sailing - RYA Level 1: Price £75.00
This course provides a relaxed and enjoyable introduction to sailing in safe condition. By the end of the course you should be able to confidently sail a dinghy single-handed. Boats used on this course are Laser Picos.

Sailing - RYA Level 2: Price £85.00
Learn more about dinghies and how to deal with a challenging variety of sailing conditions. You will also experience the trills and spills of capsizing and an insight into double handed boats. It is a pre requisite that candidates must have completed a level 1 course. Boats used on this course are Laser Picos and RS Vision.

Sailing - RYA Start Racing: Price £85.00
Dinghy racing is a very popular sport organised at clubs around the country. This course is designed to introduce you to all the skills required to compete in racing including, starting, getting around the course efficiently and the racing rules. A part of the course will include refining your sailing skills including improved tacking and gybing. Ideal for anyone with a competitive edge, or if you just want to improve your sailing.

Sailing - RYA Seamanship Skills: - Price £85.00
The emphasis of this course is on improving the sailor’s self-reliance and decision-making. Skills learnt may include, anchoring, man over board, sailing backwards and sailing without a rudder. This course is ideal for the sailor who wants to go down the cruising route. It is a prerequisite that candidates must have completed the level 2 course.
