Kate Harrison at The Court House in Worsley
On Sunday 30 September, author Kate Harrison spoke to an audience of enthusiastic readers in the beautiful surroundings of the Court House in Worsley. Kate spoke about all of her titles, in particular her novel, ‘Brown Owl’s Guide to Life,’ and her latest title, ‘The Self-Preservation Society.’
As well as having the opportunity to hear Kate speak and ask her questions, readers were also given the opportunity to purchase copies of her books courtesy of Borders Bookshop. Readers were also treated to a flute recital by MAPAS (Salford’s Music and Performing Arts Service) and were also given the chance to sample the Salford Fairtrade chocolate fountain.
Some readers were members of reading groups in Salford libraries. The event was held as part of a promotion of Romantic Writing called ‘Pure Passion,’ which is currently running across North West England. You can find out more about ‘Pure Passion’ and until 30 December 2007 you can vote for your favourite from a list of 20 romantic reads by visiting Time to Read.
The idea of this promotion is to push the boundaries of romantic reading so that it encompasses all sorts of styles of writing.
