Books and more

Is this what you are looking for?

Books

Stories for all ages.
We have books for all ages from babies to young adults. Catch up with your favourite authors or try some exciting new ones.

We can help you find stories on all sorts of topics or see Cool Reads for some amazing story themes.

Books to give you facts and information

These are books for homework or for hobbies - anything from Ancient Egypt to looking after a new pet. Some of these books are reference books that need to stay in the library for everyone to use. One of your favourites is the Guinness Book of Records.

Story Tapes

We have book and tape packs and audiobooks for when you just want to listen to a story rather than read it. There is a large range from picture books to books for young adults and they are available in most libraries in Salford.

CDs

If you enjoy listening to music we have a great choice of CDs at Broadwalk, Eccles, Walkden and Swinton Libraries. These can be borrowed for a small charge.

Videos

You can borrow videos from Swinton Library for a small charge. We have a wide range available so look out for your favourites.

Computers

There are computers available at all libraries and it's free to use them.

Would you like to have a go at surfing the internet, typing up your homework, listening to a story, learning about the human body or practicing your maths?

The first time that you use a PC we will need your parent or carer to sign a simple permission form. The PCs are free to use - the only small charges we make are for printing and discs.
