Children's book review page
What is a review?
If you write a review about a book, you are writing
- what the book was about
- what it meant to you
- whether you would recommend it to your friends
Below are some reviews that have been written by young readers in Walkden. You can find out more about these local bookbusters by going to our Bookbusters page!
Judy Moody Gets Famous by Megan McDonald
Good moods, bad moods – Judy has a mood for every occasion! Right now she’s in a jealous mood, jealous of Jessica Finch who has got her picture on the front page of the newspaper. Now Judy’s in a mood - a mood to get famous! The characters are funny and I think this is a great Judy Moody story. It is a funny adventure with an element of mystery.
Another story I liked was Do Not READ Any Further by Pat Moon

The Mummy Walks By R.L. Stine
Children’s Fiction
Michael is an average 12 year old who is sent to Jezelriah because he is the true ruler after his parents died. He is supposed to know where the Pukrah/Mummy is hidden but is confused with the whole situation. His fake parents - the Clarkes took the memory chip out. His real parents planted when he was younger (the hidden place of the Pukrah). He manages to get back to his parents with some help from Megan.
A scary book which is tense and action packed.
