Children are never too young to join the library. Babies and toddlers are especially welcome to become members. So have a look at what's on offer for your child at your local library.
Books for babies
We have a selection of books suitable for babies, with clear pictures, small sizes for easy handling and many that are made of board so that they don’t get damaged! If you borrow a book and it does get damaged in some way - your baby may rip the pages or draw in the book - please do not worry, we expect this to happen sometimes.

All story-rhymetime sessions are free and run weekly during term-time. Children ages 0-4 and their parents and carers are welcome. Activities include stories, rhymes, musical instruments, and simple crafts. Toys suitable for all ages are available towards the end of the session.
Books for parents
Parents need books too especially when they are trying to find out more about their child's health and development. Look out for the A-Z information section for parents, carers and other professionals who work with children.
Bookstart
Your child may be entitled to a free Bookstart bag from the Bookstart scheme.
