2008 Book Award

Shortlist Announced

The shortlist for the 2008 Award is:

  • Colin Bateman: Titanic 2020
  • Tom Becker: Darkside
  • Siobhan Dowd: The London Eye Mystery
  • Julia Golding: Ringmaster
  • Matt Haig: Shadow Forest
  • F. E. Higgins: The Black Book of Secrets
  • Paul Stewart & Chris Riddell: Barnaby Grimes: Curse of the Night Wolf

Now it’s up to the readers in the high schools to read the seven books and vote for their favourite – the voting will take place in December, but the winner’s name will be top secret until the award ceremony.

This year’s award ceremony will be at The Lowry, on Friday 23 January 2009.
