How to make a donation to the restoration campaign

One of the main front windows at Ordsall Hall

Donating to the Ordsall Hall restoration campaign is easy and you can do so several ways. However, we would prefer that you do so using the secure JustGiving site.

UK resident? If you're a UK tax payer, please remember to Gift Aid your donation. It really can make a difference.

UK charities are entitled to 28% tax reclaim from the Inland Revenue on every £1 donated by UK taxpayers. Unfortunately, charities often miss out on this extra income because it is too expensive to process the paperwork on small donations.

JustGiving has solved the problem by automating the process of Gift Aid reclaim so that every £1 you give is worth more, and costs less to administer. Their processes have been audited and approved by the Inland Revenue.

Donate securely with JustGiving

When you donate using JustGiving you will be asked to confirm whether or not you are a UK taxpayer. Please note that tax can only be reclaimed on donations made by individuals who pay UK income or capital gains tax at least equal to the amount reclaimed on their donations in the current tax year.

This means that a £10 donation to Ordsall Hall will actually be worth £12.80 - imagine what a difference that could make - and it won't cost you a penny extra!

For more information about Gift Aid, visit  the HM Revenue & Customs website at www.hmrc.gov.uk.

Non-UK resident? If you are NOT a UK resident, you can still make a donation using the JustGiving website.

Please make a donation in pounds sterling (£) - your credit card provider will automatically convert the £ sterling transaction to your local currency on your next statement. To see the latest exchange rates for your currency against the £, please visit www.xe.com/ucc.

The Gift Aid scheme (see above) is unique to the UK. If you are not a UK taxpayer, you can still make a donation through JustGiving, but your donation will not attract the 28% tax 'bonus'.
