Local Nature Reserves
Local Nature Reserves (LNR’s) can offer a space to walk, talk, think, learn and play or simply enjoy.
Local Nature Reserves form part of our city and are important to us not only because they support a rich and vibrant variety of wildlife, but because they make the places where we live and work healthier and less stressful.
Blackleach Country Park became the first site in Salford to receive this prestigious status in July 2004. Kersal Dale and Clifton Country Park, have since been designated. Worsley Woods and Kersal Moor are due to be designated in 2006.
For more information please contact the Local Nature Reserves Officer, Dave Suggett, on 0161 922 7342.
