The Cliff / Kersal Dale

Kersal Dale occupies around 32 hectares of countryside and forms part of the Croal Irwell Valley. With beautiful beech woodland to amble through and the River Irwell to wander along Kersal Dale offers a welcome break from city life.
This site recently became Salford’s second Local Nature Reserve (LNR) with the support from the Friends of Kersal Dale. The strong community support around Kersal Dale has made it an ideal candidate for LNR status.
As well as self-guided trails and activities the Salford Ranger Team provides a wide range of exciting activities throughout the year for adults and children alike. These include:
- kids' activities
- walks and talks
- discovering wildlife
- orienteering
- volunteer opportunities
- environmental education programmes for schools and community groups.
