Volunteering

Salford Ranger Team offers a variety of volunteering activities at sites throughout the city. Volunteering provides the perfect opportunity to get out, get fit and get involved in your local environment.
Blackleach Country Park
Currently runs a midweek volunteer programme. This well established group meet every Tuesday and carry out practical conservation work with the Ranger. New volunteers are always welcome, contact the Blackleach Ranger for more details.
Clifton Country Park
The Croal Irwell Valley Voluntary Rangers is a joint partnership between Salford, Bolton and Bury. The long running programme has around 60 volunteers who attend weekend and weekday conservation duties throughout the valley. To join just download an application form or contact the Clifton Rangers.
Kersal Dale Local Nature Reserve
The Friends of Kersal Dale support the Ranger Team to deliver a programme of ‘Action Days’ within the Nature Reserve. The group welcome support from members of the local community who can spare an hour or two. Action Days range from Rhododendron control to clean-ups to bench building. For more details contact the Ranger Team.
Worsley Woods Local Nature Reserve
The Worsley Woodlands Action Group support the Ranger Team to deliver a programme of conservation mornings. These monthly two and a half hour sessions are aimed at users of the woods giving them the opportunity to get out, get fit and get involved in their local environment.
