The Claremont, Weaste and Seedley area of Salford contain a wide range of public parks and recreational facilities including Buile Hill Park, the largest park within the city. With all the parks being within easy walking distance the range of facilities help to make sure that there is something available of interest to everyone. Football pitches, Rugby League, crown bowling greens, lakes, a wide variety of horticultural features, wildlife areas and even local history are all available. With the support of various Friends and Residents Groups throughout the summer months fun-days, events, sports coaching and art workshops provide opportunities for everyone to be involved.

Bolton Road Playing Fields, Barr Hill Avenue, Salford
Bolton Road Playing fields is a large recreation ground, mainly used for organised football. With 9 football pitches available it provides the main centre for football within the Claremont, Weaste and Seedley area. Popular with football teams of all ages bookings are arranged through individual clubs and the Council’s Education and Leisure Directorate.  Other facilities are 2 crown green bowling greens managed by the Bowling Club and a modern play area.  

Buile Hill Park, Eccles Old Road, Salford M6 8GL
The largest Public Park within the city Buile Hill has recently been included within the Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England.

King Street Bowling Green, King Street, Salford M6 7GY
A highly popular facility for Crown Green Bowling managed by an independent Bowling Club based at the pavilion. Used by 6 teams that compete within the local Bowling League, casual bowlers are also welcome to play free of any charge.

Lightoaks Park, Claremont Road, Salford M6 8NP
An attractive park popular with both local people and visitors from further away. Containing a lake, a summer shed, tennis courts, a play area, attractive horticultural features and a wide selection of mature trees LightOaks Park also acts as a popular venue for community-based fun days and activities.
N B This park is closed at night.

Oakwood Park, Swinton Park Road, Salford. M6 7WR
In a complete contrast to the other parks within the Claremont, Weaste and Seedley area, Oakwood Park is a semi-naturalised park managed to increase its wildlife value. Containing an area of recent tree planting the park makes a valuable addition to the Red Rose Forest. The full size rugby pitch adjacent to the park is home to Langworthy ALFC.
