Parks in Eccles

Renowned for its many sporting and recreational grounds the public parks within the Eccles area provide opportunities for football, tennis, crown green bowling, athletics and cycling. In addition children's play areas and attractive floral features help to make sure that there is something for everyone.

Monton Green/Boddan Lodge, Monton Green, Eccles M30 9LE
In common with the many bowling greens throughout the city Boddan Lodge is managed by the bowlers. A popular and friendly club new members are always welcome.

Facilities available include a bowling green, veteran’s pavilion, floral features and a public shelter.

Adjacent to the Bowling Green, Monton Green has become a focus of community activities. Since 1998 the rose, shrub and flower beds have been looked after and maintained by volunteers with financial support from the many local local businesses within the area.

Cleavley Athletic Track, Blantyre Street, Eccles M30 8HY
A highly popular facility providing opportunities for athletics and field events. Cleavley Track is used by Salford Metropole Athletics Club, “Wheels for All” North West Cycling club, Salford Junior Triathlon Club and Salford City Reds RLFC. Casual bookings are welcome from organised groups in particular schools and colleges.

Other features include changing rooms, flood lighting, a small children’s play area, floral features and a public car park.

Eccles Recreation Ground, Oxford Street, Eccles M30 0FW
An attractive and popular park containing crown bowling greens, football pitches, tennis courts and a play area for 4-14 year olds. Shrub beds, mature trees and an extensive route of footpaths provide opportunities for the less active to gain gentle exercise.

Eccles Recreation Ground master plan

Ellesmere Recreation Ground, Salisbury Road, Eccles M30 9BG  
A small recreational ground containing football pitches used by two local football teams. Changing rooms and a large car park are available.

Patricroft Recreation Ground, Eddison Road, Eccles M30 7BL
Containing a crown bowling green and veteran’s pavilion, football pitches and a play area, Patricroft Recreation Ground provide activities for all ages. The following facilities are available: bowling green - veteran’s pavilion - football pitches - equipped play area for 8-14 year olds.

Winton Park, Dover Street, Eccles M30 8LW
Containing a bowling green and pavilion, Winton Park is popular for informal recreation. A play area provides a facility for the younger park visitor.
