Parks in Irlam & Cadishead
Containing both Cadishead and Prince's Park; this area of Salford provides opportunities for football, crown green bowling, tennis children's play, fishing and dedicated youth facilities.
With the support of the many active community groups the parks are both attractive and popular with all.
Prince’s Park, Liverpool Road, Irlam
Prince's Park lies at the centre of Irlam and offers a variety of recreational opportunities. The park was kindly donated in Victorian times by the late George Thomas. The park contains a unique remnant of the original course of the River Irwell which is now an important habitat for a range of wildlife.
The park is supported by the Friends of Irlam and Cadishead Park's as well as other groups and individuals within the community. The locally based group, BMX bandits, were central to the development of the recently installed skateboard park which is now a popular facility for many young people in the area.
The park's facilities include:
- 2 Football Pitches
- 2 Tennis Courts
- A Bowling Green
- A Skate Board Park
- The George Thomas Play Area
- A Rose Garden and War Memorial
- Seasonal Floral Features
- Open Grassland, Wetland and Woodland
- Fishing Facilities
Adjacent to the park is Prince’s Park Garden Centre which provides valuable training and supported work opportunities. Please feel free to call in; refreshments and toilet facilities are available.

Cadishead Park, Liverpool Road, Cadishead M44 5AJ
This discrete park off Liverpool Road hosts a range of recreational facilities for local residents and groups. The park is home to Cadishead Community Hall and provides a pleasant environment for play and relaxation. Cadishead Park has benefited from a youth shelter for which funding secured by the Cadishead Young People's Shelter Project and supported by the Friends of Irlam and Cadishead Park's.

- A 5 a-side Pitch
- A Children's Play Area
