Prince’s Park Amphitheatre
The Master plan for prince’s Park is now into its fifth year, the following projects have been completed which have made a significant impact to the park.
- Improvements to the George Thomas play area
- A BMX skatepark
- Footpath improvements
- New access controls at Highbury Avenue
- A new footpath link from Highbury Avenue into the park
- Public toilets
- Refurbishment of the tennis courts
We are now looking at further improvements to the Park and one of the suggestions put forward is (depending on funding becoming available)the construction of an Amphitheatre which would be located on the grass area adjacent to the old river course (marked as a red circle on the location plan.
An amphitheatre is suited for seating people on a sloping area for the viewing of spectator sports, games, concerts, displays, rallies, or theatrical performances. Below are two examples of amphitheatres
