Prince's Park

Prince's Park is a well used recreational facility which is currently benefiting from a range of initiatives:
- Salford Ranger Team
- Events
- Educational opportunities
- Health walks
- Fishing
- Orienteering
- Tennis
- Bowling
- Disabled access
- Car parking
- Irlam Rangers Junior Football Club
- Friends of Irlam and Cadishead Parks
with help from the Irlam and Cadishead Community Committee Salford Ranger Team have been able to recruit a full time ranger to support local people, groups and schools to use the park to it's full potential.
The ranger will be running a series of events over the next few months. The Events Programme is updated regularly.
The Salford Ranger Team offers a comprehensive range of educational sessions at their sites throughout Salford. A variety of these can be offered in Prince's Park by the Ranger, who is able to adapt sessions if required. Contact the ranger for more details.
Aimed at people who do little or no exercise, these walks are a great way to get out into local urban and rural environments, meet new people and improve your health. There is a weekly health walk on a Monday morning for adults and a monthly walk for toddlers and their parents or carers. See www.salford.gov.uk/healthwalks for more information.
There are a number of fishing pegs situated on the Old River Course within Prince's Park. These are managed by the Boathouse Angling Society, from whom licences for fishing must be obtained.
To obtain a fishing licence please contact Mr K Wright on 01204-861 636. If you are under 16 and interested in joining a youth fishing group please contact the ranger.
An exciting new orienteering course is coming soon to Prince's Park. This course will be available for families to use independently and also for use by local schools.
The recently updated tennis courts are run by the Prince's Park Garden Centre. For information on opening times and fees please ring 0161-775 0030
If you are interested in joining the Bowling Club please ring 0161-775 8089 for more information.
Disabled visitors can access some areas within the park, including the tennis courts, from the main entrance on Liverpool Road. There are disabled access toilet facilities within the Prince's Park Garden Centre.
Free parking is available outside the Prince's Park Garden Centre and also alongside Irlam Fit City, located off Liverpool Road.
